... loads of quilts.

Here's my oh-so-unlikely-to-get-completed wish list of quilts I'd like to make in the coming year. Some of them are definites, others are much more wishful thinking!

1. JRQ Block Swap quilt - a definite. Here's my scrappy sketch of my block.

I'm going to buy a Hometown and a Reunion jelly roll (both by Sweetwater) and combine the blues and reds to make my sailboat blocks. Providing, that is, that they tone well with the Prairie Paisley quilt I have (as per the rules of the swap). If when I receive them they don't match the required colours - hey! - I just have two lovely jelly rolls and an excuse to buy another one!

2. Something light and airy and gorgeous with the Northcote range from Cabbages and Roses. I think I will take some of Olivia's and Kristine's quilts as my inspiration because they're always lovely:

3. I must, must, must complete the lovely Georgette's Wedding kit that I bought from The Quilt Room about 3 years ago.

4. I've got a Petite Ecole jelly roll casting accusing glances at me from my stash too. I'm going to make a quilt for a single bed to go in my guest room at Jelly Roll Towers from that one.

5. My friend is having a baby boy in March. Must make a playmat/cot quilt for him.

I'm sure there will be many more ideas to come...

We all have such long lists! Glad I'm not alone!

Wow, evryone is going to be busy.

I have some UFO's which need attention.

1. A quilt from a Hemming House layer cake, first cuts done a few years ago then it stalled as I need a whole day to do the next step of pairing, sewinging and recutting into quarter square triangles.

2. My Just Wing it JR quilt, got a few blocks together but need to buckle down to some serious sewing.

3. A Monkey buttons flowers wall hanging. Again all the bits cut out but need a day to work out the layout and get things ironed down in place.

4. Quilt my summer T's thrown - started on a Barbara Chainey mystery quilt workshop and piecing completed ages ago just in need of quilting but inspiration has not struck.

5. Make up a Schinibbles 'Summer day' quilt using those two charm square packs I bought on impluse

And this one should be top of the list

6. Finish the crochet blanket for my expected niece before May.

There's probably a lot more but these are top of the list.

Finished 2 quilted shawls - Yeepee. Made a hungry caterpillar quilt - yet to quilt it. Friendship braid quilt in strips - yet to put together. Starting a sailboat/log cabin quillow - cutting the pieces. Choosing and cutting fabric for swap too.

As an aside, found Bones tv program just before christmas last year and I have watched the whole series like 3 or 4 times in about a month and a half. I need to get it together and quilt - hahahhahaahhahhahahahahhahahahhaa

BTW - pics coming soon. And baked a few cakes too.

Make my first quilt from start to finish!

I have the quilt top finished it is a strip baby quilt.  (it is my profile pic)

I am going to get the rest of my materials this afternoon so that I can start quilting by this weekend!

I am also working on a quilt top for my grandmother.  I actually started working on this quilt top some years ago when I was a teen before I headed to college and just never finsihed it.  I want to give it to her for her 90th birthday this December!

I have so many things I want to work on once I get this first quilt finished!  And while I am doing all of this I will be doing a home remodel as well... haha wish me luck!

Lots of quikts and cakes :-)

I've completed 2 quilted shawls - will post pictures soon.

Have a ton of other quilts to make also. Really excited about all the crazy ideas I have but then the time to make them is the issue.

One step at a time and I'm sure they will all be completed.

Happy New Year, every one!

I hope to spend quite a bit of time in my sewing room, too. I plan on two bigger sized quilt blankets, one easy and one more elaborate, which I have already all drawn up. I want to finally get to my Jelly Rolls from 2011...

(say, am I the only Jelly Roll Quilter that simply can not get herself to cut up the fabric once it is bought? I love my rolls and therefore get reluctant to use them. Now, how stupid is that!? Yeah, I know.)

...I want to finish a quilt top into a quilt after taking a machine quilt lecture with Ricky Tims in February, using what I learn there. Hopefully, it will take this quilt from good to great! I am very excited about that lecture and can't wait! Then, I am planning on another Birmingham Quilt Show entry, but I plan that for the 2013 Festival as I am not sure I can finish it on time for this year. And from experience I can tell that baby quilt request tend to come up during the year from friends or family as well.

Of course, beyond all that, I will come across all kinds of yummy fabric and wonderfull patterns during the year, distracting me of these plans, and new ideas will jump up left and right!

So happy sewing to you all!

Hi Jane:)

You mentioned my quilts!!!  That is neat:)

This year I hope to just keep stitching along.   Most of our main room renos are done, so in a few weeks we will officially start my sewing studio (reno exhaustion - I need a break for a few weeks!).  I am hoping we get my studio done and I can buckle down and get some patterns finished.

I have two apron patterns I am finishing up (they are really cute, if I do say so myself!), then I have a jelly roll one I want to work on.

Happy new year everyone!

Wow!  Jane, it looks like you have a full year ahead of you!

My New Year's resolution is to cut my UFOs down significantly and design a few more jelly roll patterns.

Some UFOs:

1)  A block of the month that finished distributing in December, but I have only blocks finished through June (halfway there!):

2)  A Christmas shaggy-raggy quilt that will hopefully be done in time for Christmas NEXT year!

3)  A charm square class modification that will use up some of my scraps:

and

4) a jelly roll quilt from two years ago that I tried to turn into a quilt-as-you-go project... sigh.

Happy New Year everyone!
