Anyone else wish they were at the International Spring Quilt Market in Kansas City?

Like Pam and Nicky Lintott of The Quilt Room, and Mandy Shaw of Dandelion Designs. I'm seething with envy! At least they are blogging about it here, so we can enjoy the show through their eyes.

Nicky is going to pick up one of the latest Moda jelly rolls for our…

Pom Pom de Paris

I'm new to this blogging; I wonder if posting this picture of this jellyroll will work?

My first jellyroll

I bought my first Jellyroll on 3rd May at the marvellous Barrington Patchwork in the South West of England. It's the Moda Pom Pom de Paris. Janet had a wonderful selection of P & Q supplies. I still haven't decided what to do with it , but am currently having fun putting together my Bargello quilt with my brand new Bernina 550QE. I have to keep pinching myself to believe it's really mine.

In the Beginning Fabrics. I've said it before and I'll say it again...

... they are LOVELY!

I don't know why I keep forgetting about In the Beginning. Every so often I have a 'gasp' moment as I remember they exist, and I rush over to their website to have a look at their latest offerings. You ought to know that I have no connection with the company. I really really don't.

I think I've fallen in love with Jason Yenter. Here's an example of his Christmas fabric (out…

Help please

Does anyone have a spare strip from Just Wing It jelly roll? I'm after one of the 'plain' striped ones if possible. I messed up a cut and am now short one strip for a quilt. Would really appreciate it is some one could come to my rescue.  Thank you.

In 2012 I'm going to make...

... loads of quilts.

Here's my oh-so-unlikely-to-get-completed wish list of quilts I'd like to make in the coming year. Some of them are definites, others are much more wishful thinking!

1. JRQ Block Swap quilt - a definite. Here's my scrappy sketch of my block.…

Reversible Shopping Bag - Free Pattern...

In my bid to use up fabric I have, I made a reversible shopping bag using 1 metre of fabric (1/2 a metre for each side). For those who would like a pattern, one can be downloaded here.

Hope you like it and share pics of your creations.…

Advent Calendar Kit...

I finally got round to making the Makower advent calendars and they are pretty easy to make. I made 2 in 4 hours. Now this is where I need input from my fellow quilters.

How would you normally finish off the calendar? Do you add wadding/backing? Is it completed like a regular quilt with binding and all or do you just sandwich it together and turn it inside out?

Here is the link to the tutorial I rustled up with the help of the existing instructions on the panel -…

Olympic Quilts

Of course I should have said Happy Birthday Jelly Roll Quilters.  I have two lovely JR's which I shall consider making up when I have finished this Olympic Quilt (which I am bored with now!)

Knitting And Stitching Show - Alexandra Palace..

I was at the knitting and stitching show at Alexandra Palace in London on Saturday as part of a team from the guild of machine knitters. It was so much fun and there were so many exhibitors there it was mind blowing. Did not see The Quilt Room but saw a few of my regular quilting shops there. There were fabric, paper craft, knitting, crochet, sewing machines, silk painting, lace making, chocolate (yummy), beads, jewelry and a host of other stalls. I could not go round the whole exhibit as I…

12 hours to happiness - my trip to the FoQ

08.25 hrs - today is the day. I am going to the Festival of Quilts! Somehow I can't believe I am actually doing this. I live in Frankfurt, Germany, and want to fly into and out of Birmingham just for the day. Sounds stressing, but I entered a quilt into this show, my first one ever. Therefore I decided I have to go and see it hanging there, among all those other great quilts... who knows if I will be able to send in another one next year? So I made up my mind. A glimpse out…

Festival of Quilts

Just looked at the photos of 'The festival of quilts', some fantastic quilts.  I must get to one of these shows soon. As you can tell I am a beginner to quilting and have just finished my first quilt, which is the block sampler quilt of Pam and Nicky's. I am really addicted now. Can't wait to start another one !
