Hi Kristine,

I'm just South of you in Kirkland, WA USA.  I love where you live and hope to visit there again sometime.

I'm hoping there will be another quilt contest and now that I know more about how it's done it will be easier I'm sure.

Did I understand that we have to have permission to use our own patterns again?

Your quilts are awesome. do you own a long arm quilting machine?? I love the colours. I personally don't like dull and boring colours. Really super. Well it now should only be an hour or so til we know....

Hi Kristine
Sorry for the delay in replying. Wow it's exciting about the competition isn't it, I can't believe they are down to 18 (maybe 12 by now??) I expect the organisers will stick to the original date of 31st as it's been so well publisised but I wonder when they will announce the top 3? I wonder if they've already decided? Agh! :-D
You are very lucky living near Disneyland! I've never been to Canada although my husbands sister lives there so maybe one day!
Fabric prices and selections are OK here although I am jealous sometimes when I see the stuff they have in the States. I love designers like Nancy Halvorsen- those books are expensive here! Also the patchwork magazines here are a bit dull compared to the American ones!
Anyway good luck to you in the comp and hope you're managing to wait more patiently than me!! ;-)

Here is the text from the newsletter:
elly Roll Dream Challenge UpdateThe deadline for the Jelly Roll Dream Challenge has passed and congratulations to everyone who has entered. What an amazing response - above and beyond our expectations and the standard has been quite simply brilliant. Everyone who entered has put so much time and effort in and we can assure you we have gone through each and every entry very carefully - testing many patterns already. We are aiming to whittle it down to form a short list from which the 12 winning quilts will be chosen but oh.....it is so difficult and there are so many lovely quilts! We will keep you posted as much as we can without giving too much away!

Hi Kristine
Yes me too, I had mine in a while ago as I was on honeymoon when the deadline occurred so knew I had to get it done beforehand! :-)
Did you get the quiltroom newsletter email? It said they'd already started testing some patterns! That made me excited thinking that somebody out there might be trying to make my quilt!
Claire x
