Quilting Dreams Do Come True!

Jelly Roll Dreams, the book containing the Jelly Roll Dream Challenge winning quilts is out now!

Together with sponsors Moda Fabrics and Janome, Pam and Nicky Lintott devised the Jelly Roll Dream Challenge, a competition to make a quilt from a jelly roll, with an additional allowance of up to three yards/metres of extra fabric if required. The response was overwhelming, with over 70 quilt design entries, and brought together quilters from all over the world. The 12 winning quilts will be published in a beautiful quilting compilation, including full instructions for making all the quilts, entitled Jelly Roll Dreams this May.

Get your copy of Jelly Roll Dreams now from these online retailers, RUCraft, Martha Pullen Store, The Quilt Room, and other good bookshops.

See our new competition to win a copy of this book, PLUS a jelly roll here!

Pam and Nicky Lintott said “The response has been overwhelming and has brought together quilters from all over the world. The criterion for the quilts was not that they had to be complex or difficult to make but made good use of the jelly roll fabrics in a design that would inspire others. Choosing the winning quilts was extremely difficult and we hope we have chosen designs that will inspire you to have a go and unravel those beautifully packaged strips of fabric that we have come to love. The quilts certainly inspired us”

Garden Walk, featured on the front cover, is made by Laura Coons of Georgia USA, who is the overall winner of the Dream Challenge. The second prize was awarded to Angelika Sins from Germany with her quilt called Pac-Mania. The third prize was awarded to Jennifer Goldstein from the USA for Emma’s Quilt and the fourth prize went to Claire Hepworth from England for Lovin’ That Muffin.

Pam and Nicky said “We have had such fun making the variations, and now it is your turn. Choose a pattern to try and enjoy the work of these clever quilters as much as we have done.”

jyllybean (Jill) - There's a free excerpt of Jelly Roll Dreams available for download on the book's page at Amazon.com, and it has your "Framed By Diamonds" pattern in it!  I love the soft blues in the quilt.  Just lovely! ---Laura

Got the book yesterday - brilliant!  I think I'll be having a go at the Sense of Direction design with the Stitch in Color jelly roll I picked up a couple of months ago.

Hello Jenny. Message me with your new address and I'll make sure JRQ HQ send the quilt to the right place.

Jane,  Do you know when the quilts might be returned to us?  I will be moving in about two months and I just wanted to make sure that my quilt gets sent to the right address when the time comes.

Thanks!  Jenny

I just peeked at it!!!!!!  When you click on the "peek inside" option, I love, LOVE, LOVE the one on the second page with the stars!!  Love it.  I can't wait to see the rest of it:)

wonderful news, Can't wait for the book. and really hope there will be another challenge. have lots of plans already. But I do also hope that it is just one entrance per participant, that would be much fairer. or several entrance possible but you can only win with one. it should definitely be 12 winners.

Comment by jyllybean on February 15, 2012 at 17:28

You can take a sneak peek inside, too!

I really don't know, Kristine. It would be great though, wouldn't it?!
I do know the publication date of the Dream Challenge book, though. It will be available in May. That's as specific as I can be at the moment! Which particular day in May will be announced a little bit nearer the time.

hmmmm....I wonder if there will be another challenge???

Comment by Jane Makepeace on January 11, 2012 at 15:07

Hello! It has been a bit quiet on this page recently, hasn't it? Especially after all the excitement. Behind the scenes the book of the winning quilts is being created. I will get a publication date for you as soon as I've checked with JRQ HQ.

Janene - it's not too late, just ask. Click on the Contact Us tab and fill in the contact form. Good question about the year though. Where did it go?!
